About The Position

The Health & Wellness Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality assisted living services that maximize residents' individual capabilities. This role involves implementing and monitoring effective assisted living systems, ensuring compliance with clinical and health services standards, and serving as a clinical resource for community staff. The director will oversee nursing associates, conduct assessments, and maintain high standards of care while collaborating with medical professionals to promote quality care and independence for residents.

Requirements

  • Current active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and 2 years of people leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Quality assurance/improvement and staff development experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification, or obtain certification within 90 days of hire and remain current during employment.
  • Current First Aid certification (if required by state) and must remain current during employment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality resident care is consistently delivered in accordance with all local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacy, and other medical professionals to promote quality care and independence for residents.
  • Interview, hire, train, and lead all nursing associates including Wellness Nurses, Resident Care Coordinator, and Resident Assistants.
  • Conduct comprehensive resident pre-admission, admission, and quarterly assessments in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Provide on-call support for the community.
  • Ensure compliance, efficiency, and team's understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the standards of care practice within the community.
  • Assess and monitor residents' health care needs through appropriate actions, training, consultation, and delegation.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures that govern clinical services.
  • Order and maintain inventory of health-related supplies and equipment for residents.
  • Responsible for staff performance, recruitment, retention, and development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality resident care and staff development.
  • Plan, develop, and implement a budget process for staffing and clinical services.
  • Evaluate the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the community's goals.
  • Serve as spokesperson for caregiving matters and represent the community professionally.
  • Participate in appropriate meetings and committees.
  • Meet with families as requested.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance, HIPAA, and state and federal regulatory training as required.
  • Maintain appropriate degree of confidentiality.
