About The Position

As a Health & Safety Supervisor, responsibilities include; the supervision of the Nurse's Station, Athletic Training Room, the medication administration and care of ill and injured campers, staff, guests and visiting athletes. Within this role there are varying degrees of processes in which must be understood and prioritized in order to successfully achieve the daily operations of this department. You should be knowledgeable in healthcare, wellness, and safety initiatives and programs. Must be willing to evolve and adapt with the needs of the business and adhere to and support all work protocols and guidelines.

Requirements

  • PA RN/LPN or Compact State Verification –or- PA CMA/RMA License/Certification -or- PA ATC License –or- Act 41 Verification
  • BOC ATC Certification –or- PA EMT/Paramedic or Compact State Verification
  • Current CPR/AED Certification
  • Provide work related references upon request
  • Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years as a Registered Nurse, Certified Athletic Trainer, EMT, or Paramedic
  • Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), Board Certified Athletic Trainer, PA Licensed ATC, PA DOH, Compact EMT, or Paramedic
  • Must have 2+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
  • Must have CPR and First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

  • Be a knowledgeable resource of current and proposed standards of practice and state guidelines of all Medical Staff (Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, ATC, ATI, EMT, Paramedic)
  • Supporting the Health & Safety Manager with enforcing, enacting, and following Standard Operating Procedures, Incident Response Plan, and Emergency Action Plans.
  • Supervise the daily operation of the Nurse's Station and Athletic Training Room
  • Ensuring adherence to HIPPA standards
  • Execute the medicine administration process for all campers, guests, and staff to ensure compliance across state and ACA guidelines
  • Responsible to provide comprehensive medical care to all campers, guests, and staff
  • Work alongside the Transportation department to ensure the best care is provided to all medical transports
  • Recognize changes in patients' condition and respond appropriately
  • Guidance for staff on the best plan of care for campers, staff, and guests
  • Attend and participate in staff training to acquire knowledge for behavior management techniques, emergency evacuation procedures, etc.
  • Oversite of maintaining records on campers, staff, and guests utilizing our internal platforms
  • Contribute to overall organization and administration of the infirmary in conjunction with other assigned staff
  • Liaison between parents, coaches, program staff, and athletes regarding illness care, prevention, management, and treatment.
  • Maintain Woodward's safety logs, operational sheets and incident logs
  • Help facilitate health and safety across the entire camp
  • Support storytelling, social and content ideas for health and wellness department
  • Assist in training Medical Staff to ensure safety, health, and wellness are executed to Woodward standards
  • Provide oversight to all Medical Staff
  • Maintain a positive learning environment for clinical education of all Medical Staff
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss current issues and safety lists
  • Provide on-call overnight coverage on a rotational basis every night via phone and radio coverage
  • Assist with Nurse's Station and Athletic Training Room inventory on supplies and operational needs
  • Communicate any and all maintenance needed to uphold safe and sanitized medical facilities
  • Assist with weekly administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, camper evaluations, etc.
  • Provide unique perspectives and feedback that aid in the development of the Health & Safety Department
  • Carry out the Woodward Guest Services standards – Be Safe, Be Friendly, Be Helpful, Be Proud.
  • Support operational departments in carrying out the Woodward mission in creating a safe and fun environment for all campers.
