About The Position

The Health and Safety Coordinator at Candlelight Cabinetry is tasked with the critical responsibility of implementing and managing comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves close collaboration with both management and staff to develop, enforce, and continuously improve policies and procedures that promote occupational health and safety across the organization. The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and enhancing the overall well-being of the workforce. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of health and safety policies that align with local, state, and federal regulations. The Coordinator will regularly review and update these policies to reflect any changes in regulations or organizational needs. Training and education are also vital components of this role, as the Coordinator will conduct training sessions on various safety topics, ensuring that all employees receive adequate safety training upon hire and whenever new processes or equipment are introduced. In addition to policy development and training, the Coordinator will conduct regular risk assessments and hazard identification inspections to identify potential workplace hazards. Collaborating with department managers, the Coordinator will address identified hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks. Incident investigation is another critical aspect of the role, where the Coordinator will analyze workplace incidents, accidents, or near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence, ensuring all incidents are documented and reported in compliance with regulatory requirements, including OSHA logs. The Coordinator will also monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies, coordinating with regulatory agencies as necessary and ensuring timely submission of required reports and documentation. Emergency preparedness is a key focus, with the Coordinator responsible for developing and maintaining emergency response plans and procedures, conducting drills, and testing the effectiveness of these protocols. Participation in the company's safety committee is also expected, where the Coordinator will serve as a resource and advisor, facilitating regular safety meetings and providing guidance on safety-related issues.
