About The Position

Health and Safety Manager (EHS / Safety Manager / Occupational Safety Manager) Fisher Associates is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve our company-wide safety program within a multidisciplinary AEC professional services firm. This role supports employees working in office environments and in the field, delivering surveying, environmental, engineering, and construction inspection services across diverse client projects. This position is ideal for an experienced EHS or Safety Manager with a strong background in OSHA compliance, risk management, safety training, and regulatory reporting, who understands the realities of safety in a project-based consulting environment and enjoys working collaboratively with both office-based and field staff. As the Health and Safety Manager, you will lead multi-state safety initiatives, partner closely with leadership and project teams, and help integrate health and safety into daily operations as a core business priority, supporting professional staff who balance technical work, client requirements, travel, and field conditions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years managing a multi-state, company-wide safety program for a mid-sized organization (200+ employees).
  • OSHA Construction Safety, First Aid and CPR certifications required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and applicable health and safety regulations relevant to engineering, surveying, environmental field services, and construction inspection.
  • A/E or professional services experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience reviewing contracts and project safety and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and Safety Management Systems (SMS), including Avetta and ISNetworld.
  • Proven ability to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and drive compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence safety practices across offices and job sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective health and safety training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; GIS and database experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a strong, inclusive workplace safety culture aligned with company values.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, including OSHA and licensing requirements.
  • Lead and continuously improve company-wide safety programs, policies, procedures, SOPs, and management systems.
  • Conduct hazard assessments, risk mitigation, and safety audits for office environments, surveying operations, environmental field services, and construction inspection activities.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, including new hire orientation, required certifications, and specialized training.
  • Lead incident and accident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and corrective action implementation.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and partner with HR on employee safety matters.
  • Track and report safety metrics, including OSHA logs and regulatory submissions.
  • Lead the Fisher Associates Safety Committee and facilitate regular meetings.
  • Plan and execute safety initiatives and company-wide safety communications.
  • Oversee safety programs including PPE, vehicles, equipment inspections, medical surveillance, and emergency planning.
  • Serve as the company’s health and safety subject matter expert for project teams and proposals.
