We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in. As our Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and managing health and safety programs in our chemical manufacturing facilities in Tennessee and Louisiana. Specifically, this will include:

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ hands-on experience with safety in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience providing employee training and making presentations;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices;
  • Team-building skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work well independently; and,
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leading monthly site safety meetings and facilitating safety committee meetings;
  • Managing biomonitoring testing programs and ensuring appropriate protection measures are in place to maintain exposure limits below defined levels;
  • Identifying and managing PPE equipment and programs;
  • Creating and delivering new employee and contractor safety training and orientation;
  • Managing job safety analyses and participating in occupational and process safety incident reviews, which includes assisting with investigations;
  • Managing the site’s Risk Awareness Program and cultivating a strong culture focused on safety;
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring leading safety indicators;
  • Supporting and participating in Safe Work Permit programs and retention of records;
  • Maintaining working relationships with governmental agencies and ensuring all safety-related inspections reflect compliance with applicable requirements; and,
  • Performing other duties as needed.
