Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Health and Safety Manager (3802) in Commerce City, CO. The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This role ensures compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and write detailed reports.
  • Flexibility to work additional shifts to match work requirements
  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or equivalent (e.g. PE or CHMM) are preferred.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Lead training sessions for staff on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
  • Administer medical surveillance program
  • Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring program
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure safety measures are integrated into daily operations.
  • Stay up-to-updated on new legislation and industry best practices.
  • Manage emergency response plans and first aid readiness.
