About The Position
The role of the head wrestling coach will be to lead all aspects of the wrestling program. The position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student-athletes and all assistant coaches within the program. Starts November 17, 2025.
Nice To Haves
- Previous high school wrestling coaching preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintains a working knowledge of all district and MHSAA rules governing extracurricular athletics
- Ensures proper cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all program materials including uniforms and mats
- Supervises team in the locker rooms at all home games, away games, and practices to ensure appropriate behavior
- Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student-athletes at all times
- Works with Athletic Director for all practice and game scheduling
- Ensures medical and safety guidelines are adhered to
- Is punctual for all games and practices
- Conducts him/herself in a professional and courteous manner with all players, parents, staff, officials
- Consults with Athletic Director for all offseason training programs
- Communicates in a timely manner with Athletic Director, parents, and players
- Emphasizes sportsmanship and promotes academics as a major part of the program
