About The Position

Coaches are responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning assisting each participant to achieve. Education includes sport skill, technique, and an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship. This position is an extension of the educational environment of the District.

Nice To Haves

• Valid Missouri teaching certification preferred
• One year of teaching or educational experience preferred
• One year of coaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the regulations under MSHSAA and other legal requirements to ensure student participation, safety, conduct, and general welfare of the students participating in the activity
• Build and maintains secure relationships with students as well as maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and patrons in order to increase performance and participating in an interscholastic activity.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with timelines including but not limited to, equipment/supply inventories, student and team records, coach records, and facility usage and records.
• Represent the District maintaining integrity, confidentiality, and conduct.
• Other duties as directed by the supervisor
• Regular and Reliable attendance as it aligns to the scope of this position.
• Additional duties necessary to supervise students, monitor events, or assist in an emergency situation.
• Attend building events such as open houses, curriculum night, informational meetings, and events designed to bring the public into the District as requested or needed to advance the activity.
• Occasional or sporadic duties such as taking tickets at an event, participating on an interview committee, covering a duty of a colleague, etc.
• Participate in professional development activities and/or work outside of the typical sport term.
• Supervise students at all times and/or as directed by supervisor
• Supervise events as described above and/or directed by supervisor
• Supervise other coaches if applicable and volunteers
