About The Position

Position Title: Women’s Volleyball Head Coach. Department: Athletics. Classification: Exempt. FTE: 1.0. Work Schedule: Full-Time: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; regular evening and weekend hours required (i.e. games/practice/recruiting activities); travel up to 35% of work schedule, which includes local (Twin Cities metro area) and national travel; overnight trips could average 3-5 trips per year. Work Location: On Campus. Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000. Essential Job Duties: Direct, organize and administer all aspects of the sport program. Organize competition schedule. Organize and administer practice/training and game plans and strategies. Manage program budget expectations. Coordinate alumni relations and fundraising events. Oversee and administer all administrative functions of the program. Responsible for opponent scouting, film review, and scouting reports. Attend all department meetings and mandatory athletic events. Hire, train, and supervise assistant coaches and volunteers. Provide appropriate support and counsel to student athletes. Promote a team atmosphere of inclusion and acceptance. Set the standards and cultural expectations of the program. Live out those standards and cultural expectations. Actively recruit qualified student athletes. Formulate and execute a recruiting plan that targets a diverse group of potential student athletes that can achieve high levels of success athletically, academically, socially. Attend opportunities to evaluate potential student athletes regularly. Maintain consistent, effective and honest communication with potential student-athletes. Maintain contact with high school and club coaches, as well as parents. Coordinate campus visits and actively engage and participate in those visits. Actively engage with admissions staff and events. Comply with all NCAA Division III, MIAC, and St. Olaf Bylaws. Support, respect, and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds, values, and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community. Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle 5. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervision Received and Exercised: Reports to the Associate Athletic Director of Budget and Compliance. This position supervises both staff and student workers. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree Experience: 2+ years of high school, club or college coaching experience. Preferred Qualifications: Education: Master’s Degree. Experience: 4+ years of college coaching experience. Prerequisites: Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks, reference checks, verification of work history, verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, a motor vehicle check, verification of DOT certification, a credit check, employment eligibility verification, and/or a pre-employment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College.
