About The Position

The Head Varsity Football Coach at Woodridge High School is responsible for leading the football program during the 2025-2026 school year. This role involves organizing and supervising the sports program, instructing athletes in fundamental skills and strategies, and serving as a role model for student athletes. The coach will also oversee assistant coaches and ensure compliance with athletic policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Prior head coaching experience is preferred.
• Ability to organize and supervise a sports program.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of football.
• Successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Ability to serve as a role model for student athletes.

• Experience in coaching at the high school level.
• Knowledge of state and league regulations regarding athletics.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise the total sports program.
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training.
• Serve as a role model for student athletes through actions and instructions.
• Implement athletic policies approved by the Woodridge Local Schools' Board of Education.
• Train and inform staff, encouraging professional growth.
• Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation among staff and athletes.
• Assist the athletic director in scheduling and preparing for events.
• Provide documentation for state and system requirements regarding physical examinations and eligibility.
• Mentor athletes to promote character development and citizenship.
• Participate in budgeting and equipment management for the sports program.
