About The Position

The Head Usher is responsible for overseeing guest services during events, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees. This role involves managing the duties of special event ushers and coordinating with the Front of House (FOH) Manager to meet all front-of-house needs.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in event management and supervision of staffing related to events.
• Working knowledge of Fire Safety codes and ADA requirements.
• Skilled in standard business software and basic A/V equipment operation.
• Ability to resolve guest or employee problems in a friendly and firm manner.
• Ability to work under the guidance of management.

• Experience in a high-pressure event environment.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with FOH Manager for coordination of front-of-house needs including security, medical, ushers, ticket takers, and greeters.
• Assist FOH Manager with Human Resources responsibilities to promote teamwork and employee satisfaction.
• Respond to guest concerns both orally and in writing as directed by FOH Manager.
• Enter the facility through the employee entrance and report to the FOH Manager.
• Maintain a neat appearance and wear the assigned uniform and name tag during events.
• Arrive at assigned area at least 15 minutes before doors open to the public.
• Familiarize oneself with the venue layout including first aid areas, fire extinguishers, and all entrances and exits.
• Assist guests with ticket locations and ensure they remain in ticketed areas.
• Maintain clear aisles and walkways during events.
• Report any uncontrollable situations to a supervisor, security, or medical staff immediately.
