About The Position

WHAT YOU’LL DO Collaborate intensively and daily with English and target language (Spanish or Chinese) colleagues to design learning outcomes, monitor growth, and thoughtfully address individual student needs. Design and teach an innovative curriculum that engages all learners in meaningful and challenging work that cultivates real-world problem solving skills and develops social responsibility. Employ a range of instructional practices to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners based on informal and formal assessments. Deeply connect with students, colleagues and parents to vigorously uphold a culture of welcome, safety and respect . Invoke a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a rigorous and joyful learning community.

Requirements

  • Full fluency in Spanish and experience in immersion teaching
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in grades K-6 with a proven track record of student learning
  • Strong understanding of instructional skills teaching through a balanced literacy approach in the reading and writing workshop model
  • Experience with problem-based mathematics instruction
  • A strong desire to be a team-player collaborating closely to achieve shared goals
  • Deep dedication to learning and growing as an educator
  • Respect for, and appreciation of, a diverse community of learners, families and colleagues
  • Ability to embrace change and consider new perspectives

  • Graduate degree in education, teaching or a related field highly preferred
