Head Start Teacher
About The Position
The Head Start Teacher is responsible for a Head Start preschool classroom of 3- to 5-year-old children. Works collaboratively with an assistant teacher, family members, and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities. This is an on-site position, employed by one of Greater Louisville Head Start's childcare center partners: Auburndale Learning Academy (7604 3rd Street Road, Louisville, KY 40214) Keystone Learning Academy (1705 S 13th St, Louisville, KY 40210) St. Benedict Center for Early Childhood Education (946 S 25th St, Louisville, KY 40210) WesKids Child Development Center (5114 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213) The mission of Head Start is to promote the school readiness of young children from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education OR Bachelors Degree in a related field with a minimum 15 semester credit hours or 25 quarter credit hours in Early Childhood Education and minimum one year experience working with children from birth to 5 years of age.
