About The Position

As a Site Coordinator, you'll be the linchpin that connects our team, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional experiences for staff and children alike. The Head Start and Early Head Start program strengthens families and closes the achievement gap for over 500 of Central Oregon’s most vulnerable and at-risk children aged 0-5 and pregnant mothers. Head Start/Early Head Start integrates high-quality early education and family engagement with other critical services.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in early childhood education or related field required, with a minimum of 35 college quarter credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related classes
  • Diploma and transcripts are required to validate Early Childhood Education/Related field and to verify ECE/Social Services related coursework
  • Must be able to attain Teaching Strategies GOLD reliability within 90 days
  • Must be able to attain CLASS reliability within 90 days and maintain reliability
  • Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to children’s needs
  • This position is rated as active and occasionally requires the individual to lift 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Proof of current auto insurance required
  • Food Handler’s Card required
  • Current enrollment in the OR Child Care Division-Central Background Registry (CBR) required
  • Access to reliable transportation required
  • Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire
  • Initial health examination and periodic re-examination required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in early childhood education or related field, with a minimum of 35 college quarter credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related classes
  • Three years progressively responsible professional experience with demonstrated experience in administration and supervision preferred

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing designated Head Start classrooms
  • Leading the site staff through coaching, mentoring, supervision, and training
  • Ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Oregon Child Care Licensing, and the Quality Rating Improvement System
  • Collaborating with Content Area Coordinators/Managers to ensure integrated and documented service delivery
  • Serving as a communication link between site staff and Head Start Leadership
  • Participating in the Head Start Leadership team
