About The Position

We are looking for an Intervention Specialist to provide a variety of assistance within the Mental Health and Special Education areas of the CFS Programs operated and administered by SETA, and to provide direct support services for children enrolled in Head Start or Early Head Start programs. This position will be in the Head Start Program. The Intervention Specialist is responsible for the implementation of the mental health program; maintenance of mental health and special education records; identification and development of education plans and goals for children with special education, behavioral and mental health needs.

Requirements

  • Advanced education training in a Social Services or Special Education discipline with an emphasis in family dynamics or related field
  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Social Services, Special Education, Child Development or a related field such as, but not limited to Sociology, Psychology, or Counseling
  • At least five (5) years of work experience in mental health, special education or social services fields, preferably dealing with the challenges of young children and their families
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C Driver’s License
  • A good driving record of at least two (2) years duration, as evidenced by freedom from multiple or serious traffic violations or accidents
  • Complete a pre-employment health screening, TB test, and background check upon job offer
  • Provide copies of immunization records for MMR, TDAP and flu (or flu waiver) upon job offer

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent
