Description Duties and Responsibilities Home Visits and Child Development: Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits with assigned families to provide individualized education, support, and resources based on the needs of each child and family. Guide parents in implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote school readiness and align with Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. Assess the child’s progress using developmental screenings and observations and collaboratively set goals with families. Deliver age-appropriate curriculum and activities that address all areas of a child’s development, including cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical growth. Parent Engagement and Education: Empower parents to be their child’s first and most important teacher by encouraging active participation in learning activities and program goals. Offer resources, information, and strategies to promote parenting skills, family health, nutrition, and emotional well-being. Help families create a supportive home learning environment that fosters the child’s development. Organize and facilitate regular group socializations to provide opportunities for children and families to interact and engage in shared learning experiences. Health and Family Support: Assist families in identifying and accessing community resources for health services, housing, education, financial assistance, and other needs. Collaborate with the program’s health and family services team to ensure that each family receives comprehensive services, including physical and dental screenings for children. Case Management and Referrals: Maintain detailed records of each child’s development, family goals, and service needs through ongoing documentation. Develop family partnership agreements and support families in reaching self-sufficiency goals. Identify potential challenges facing families and provide appropriate referrals to community services, including mental health, housing, employment, or substance abuse treatment. Program Compliance and Evaluation: Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, state regulations, and program guidelines. Participate in training, professional development, and reflective supervision to continuously enhance skills and knowledge. Assist in planning and facilitating family events, parent education workshops, and other program activities.
