Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or related field.
  • Experience working with diverse families in low-income communities.
  • Prefer case management experience and bilingual (Spanish).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to incorporate the unique cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds of families.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Complete and pass health examination.
  • Clear criminal background check.
  • Required to lift up to 60 pounds.

  • Experience in family engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal Head Start regulations.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Establish systems for program eligibility of Head Start program participants in accordance with agency and federal policy.
  • Guide recruitment efforts to inform families with eligible children about available Head Start services.
  • Establish selection criteria and ensure program compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Ensure assigned program maintains its funded enrollment level, including filling slots within 30 days of vacancy.
  • Monitor systems for tracking child attendance and consult on mitigating absenteeism.
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement family engagement strategies.
  • Support completion of minimum training requirements through the development and delivery of training and technical assistance.
  • Monitor program enrollment to ensure it reaches 100% and complies with eligibility criteria.
  • Provide oversight of physical and electronic child records to ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards.
  • Prepare and submit required reports prior to deadlines.
