About The Position

The Head Start Center Director is responsible for promoting school readiness among children in Boulder County's Head Start program. This role involves providing high-quality technical assistance, mentoring, coaching, and training to education staff. The Center Director supervises classroom staff, collaborates with various teams, and ensures compliance with program standards and regulations. This is a full-time position with a schedule primarily from Monday to Friday, with some evenings and weekends required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, special education, family studies, or a related field.
  • At least three years of professional lead teaching experience in a preschool setting.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification and Medication Administration.
  • Current Directors License from the State of Colorado.
  • Current MyTeaching Strategies Inner-Rater Reliability for Preschool.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Preschool CLASS Observer certification, or attainment in the first year of position.
  • Previous Head Start experience.
  • Access to reliable transportation for business use.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and services to classroom staff, including curriculum development and implementation.
  • Supervise all site staff, including Kitchen Aides.
  • Co-create goals for all direct reports and schedule monthly check-ins on these goals and classroom operations.
  • Conduct yearly performance evaluations for all direct reports.
  • Collaborate with the Integrated Services team to ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards.
  • Ensure strong communication throughout the program and site location.
  • Ensure site compliance with all CDHS Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations.
