We are seeking a highly experienced real estate and facilities professional to lead our North America region. Applied Materials is growing at a pace that is driving significant increases in headcount and facilities. As a result, we expect over the next five years to have the most exciting and active R&D and manufacturing infrastructure pipeline in our history. The Global Workplace and Infrastructure (GWI) team is responsible for all company facilities, from acquisition through operation to disposition. With a global capital budget over $1.5B+ and operating budget of $500M+, the scale of our financial impact on the company is material. As a member of the GWI leadership team, you will play an exciting and important role in our success. The GWI Regional Director for North America leads the GWI organization and facility portfolio for all locations in the US (except Silicon Valley), Canada and Latin America. The team is accountable for the full cycle of the assets - plan, transact, design, build and operate. Included in the portfolio are major manufacturing sites and R&D labs in Texas, Arizona, Oregon, New York, Massachusetts and Montana. Additionally, there are customer-facing and other service-related locations in Costa Rica, Canada, Utah, Washington DC, and others. The portfolio consists of ~5m SqFt across 27 locations and houses 7k employees. The North America GWI team you will lead consists of 40 employees and 700 contractors. You will be responsible to partner with business unit executives, functional subject-matter-experts (Real Estate, EHS, Security, IT), Finance, Legal, Procurement and other stakeholders to align on business requirements and common goals. It is also the responsibility of this position to drive operational plans to ensure successful execution that will translate into measurable year-over-year improvements in performance, efficiency and effectiveness. This position reports to the CVP, Global Workplace and Infrastructure and is based in Phoenix, Austin or Santa Clara. The role requires travel up to 25%.
