About The Position

Job Purpose: The Head of Technology is a leadership role responsible for defining, governing, and executing the Bank’s technology strategy in alignment with growing business demands, technology standards and local regulatory obligations of Mashreq US. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology multi-year strategy, delivery and operations which includes critical banking applications, enterprise infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and vendor management. The role demands deep expertise in banking technology and applications, regulatory frameworks, and enterprise infrastructure, with a strong focus on operational resilience, security, and customer service excellence. T he role carries direct accountability for technology resilience, data integrity, regulatory technology compliance, and third-party risk management, while delivering modern, cost-effective, and highly available technology services across Financial Institution, Corporate & Investment Banking, Payments, and Treasury operations.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy, architecture and technical roadmap in line with business and regulatory requirements and roadmap.
• Drive modernization of Technology landscape through selection of right technology solutions - introducing new cutting edge technologies and solutions for effective operations and overall risk reduction of the bank.
• Define and execute the technology strategy for Mashreq US in alignment with global and regional business goals.
• Lead the design and management of robust virtualization and infrastructure environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Oversee DR and BCP capabilities for Mashreq US operations, ensuring readiness and compliance with regulatory expectations.
• Ensure full compliance with US regulatory requirements including DFS, FFIEC, and federal guidelines on cloud, data protection, and cybersecurity.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight for key banking platforms including Corebanking, E-Gifts (Payments), Fircosoft (Sanctions Screening), and Actimize (AML and Fraud).
• Manage relationships with multiple vendors and service providers, ensuring adherence to SLAs and performance metrics.
• Lead vendor evaluations, contract negotiations and managed services governance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, risk, compliance, and audit teams to ensure technology alignment inline with business and regulatory needs.
• Drive modernization initiatives and introduce innovative technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
• Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring high performance, talent development, and strategic workforce planning.
• Maintain a strong focus on security operations, incident management, and audit readiness.
• Ensure DRs are in place and drills are successfully carried as per the approved calendar.
• Serve as a technology enabler, understand and offer appropriate technology inputs and solutions to business.
• Lead the team comprising of professionals at various levels of seniority and from diverse backgrounds. M Effectively manage team including hiring, allocating responsibility, monitoring work assignments and ensuring adherence to established processes, timelines & standards.
• Strong leadership skills, ability to influence decisions and actions at all levels of the Bank.
• Effectively resolve interpersonal issues among team members.
• Motivate and develop an environment of collaboration between the team members to achieve a healthy working environment.
• Keep up-to-date on new technology, standards, protocols and tools in areas relevant to the rapidly changing digital environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge and know-how of various areas of business in order to effectively support growing business demands and goals
• Thorough understanding of Software Development Life cycles, Agile Practices and methodology, tracking tools like Azure board, Jira, Confluence etc
• Audit, Security and Regulatory compliance.
• Full compliance to Information Security Operations and Incident Management Operating Environment
