As the Quality Control Manager for the Credit Risk Center in Business Banking Risk, you will provide strategic leadership to a team of Quality Control officers who review Wholesale and Retail credit analysis decisions. This ensures compliance with Regulations, Business Banking Risk, and Firmwide Requirements and Procedures. The purpose of this role is to improve the overall quality of credit analysis decisions and maintain an environment of Audit readiness through regular quality reviews, creation and oversight of various monitoring reports, and driving process enhancements. You will also play an integral role in managing governance initiatives across the business. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • At least 10 years in commercial credit analysis, or equivalent related experience.
  • Experience in risk governance and controls.
  • Ability to formulate and articulate objective views based on professional credit assessment.
  • Advanced knowledge of credit analysis and policies, loan documentation and regulatory requirements.
  • Recognized leadership capabilities and executive presence.
  • Superior analytical skills supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated judgment and ability to act decisively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a Quality Control Management role
  • MBA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Quality Control officers who conduct regular quality reviews on Wholesale and Retail credit decisions.
  • Drive a culture of end-to-end ownership of Quality Control processes while maintaining effective control over key deliverables. Take complete responsibility for implementing and coordinating activities under the Quality Control program.
  • Demonstrate an expert understanding of Regulatory requirements and internal processes to ensure adequate coverage of Quality Control tests.
  • Effective management of difficult conversations; excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Identify key performance trends and propose effective Quality Control measures for better Risk Management (i.e. process improvements, training, targeted quality reviews). Effectively report Quality Control findings to senior management.
  • Own, participate and drive participation from the team on business-critical projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with preparation for internal and external reviews, audits, and examinations.
  • Collaborate, build, and maintain strong partnerships across the organization.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills by mentoring, coaching, providing ongoing training support, and supporting the development of the Quality Control team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines and oversee resources, ensure timely submission of deliverables.
