The Product Engineering team is seeking a seasoned engineering leader. This team is responsible for transforming Nuro's autonomous vehicle technology into a tangible product and experience through collaborations with mobility providers and OEMs. The core responsibilities include vehicle dispatch, trip management, routing engines and fleet/operational toolings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or 5+ years of equivalent industry experience) with 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering leadership roles managing teams of 10+ engineers.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, with hands-on experience building and scaling real-time cloud services and applications.
• Proven leadership experience managing and growing high-performing engineering teams, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire technical talent.
• Strong business sense, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a bias for action and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the capacity to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Passionate about accelerating the benefits of robotics for everyday life.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for the Product Engineering team.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 15-20 engineers (including managers and senior individual contributors), fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
• Drive the end-to-end ride-hailing experience.
• Drive the development of both onboard and offboard routing engines.
• Partner closely with mobility providers and OEMs on system and data integration.
• Lead innovation for operational and fleet tooling, catering to both R D and commercial needs.
