POSITION SUMMARY The SVP, Head of Group Actuarial Pricing – Global is responsible for leading the company’s global pricing function and ensuring consistent, data‑driven pricing excellence across all lines and geographies. This role partners closely with Underwriting and senior leadership to develop and maintain pricing frameworks, enhance analytical capabilities, and strengthen the organization’s actuarial discipline.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative or statistical discipline; graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of actuarial experience, including at least 10 years in pricing roles; preference for 20+ years of experience with 15+ in pricing.
  • Fellow of a recognized actuarial body (FCA, FCAS, FIA, or equivalent) required.
  • Expertise in pricing a broad range of property, specialty, and casualty (re)insurance products.
  • Demonstrated experience leading globally distributed teams and developing top actuarial talent.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to develop pragmatic solutions to complex issues.
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical capabilities; intellectually curious and comfortable challenging assumptions.
  • Proven success presenting to underwriters, senior executives, and external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
  • This is a fast-paced business environment, demanding a strong work ethic and a results-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership of the global pricing team, ensuring consistent, high‑quality pricing across all classes of business.
  • Oversee pricing of deals globally and ensure alignment with underwriting strategy, risk appetite, and corporate objectives.
  • Develop and maintain reporting, monitoring rate movements, limit profiles, attachment points, and other indicators to support informed actuarial pricing assumptions.
  • Work collaboratively with Underwriting to deepen understanding of business written and ensure pricing rigor.
  • Analyze market and portfolio trends, communicating key insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain and regularly update benchmark assumptions using the most current data and emerging trends.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and accountability.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with modern tools, technology, and training to excel.
  • Communicate complex pricing analyses in a clear, concise manner to senior leaders and non-technical audiences.
  • Oversee development, maintenance, and enhancement of global pricing models and processes.
  • Continuously review and refine pricing methodologies to ensure relevance, accuracy, and competitive positioning.
  • Drive research into advanced analytical techniques and emerging practices to improve pricing sophistication.
  • Support strategic initiatives and cross‑functional projects where pricing expertise is required.
  • Maintain strong professional knowledge and contribute to the development of actuarial talent across the organization.
  • Complete ad hoc assignments as required.
