The Performance Specialist team bridges the gap between Google’s product and sales teams, transforming technical innovations into scalable client solutions. As the Head of Performance Strategy, you will lead a team of performance strategy leads (PSLs) focused on the media and entertainment, consumer electronics, and government and advocacy verticals within the consumer, government and entertainment sector. You will be responsible for defining commercial strategies, providing product knowledge to business partners, and driving growth across search and performance max (PMax) portfolios. The team's mission is to serve as the strategic partner for consumer, government and entertainment businesses, helping them navigate through AI-driven growth plans. Google's Large Customer Sales (LCS) teams are strategic partners and industry thought leaders to the world's leading brands and agencies. We continuously challenge how customers think about their business and how Google can support growth. We focus on helping these players navigate profound industry shifts and drive outsized business performance by competitively selling Google's full suite of advertising solutions across Search, YouTube, Measurement, and more. As a member of our LCS team, you'll have the unique opportunity to sell at the forefront of technology, collaborating with executives, influencing market-shaping strategies, and delivering tangible results that significantly impact major global businesses and drive the growth of Google.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in marketing/media, sales, business development, or consulting.
  • 5 years of experience with people management, leading and developing a business team, and managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • 5 years of experience working cross-functionally and developing business strategies.

  • Experience with performance advertising (e.g., Search, PMax).
  • Experience leading teams, driving go-to-market initiatives, establishing operational excellence, and fostering collaborative environments.
  • Experience developing and executing strategies that drive business growth and product adoption in client environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert on performance advertising solutions for internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Build relationships with vertical and product go-to-market, Head of Industries (HOIs), Sector Intervention Leads (SILs), and Industry Directors (IDs) to establish operational excellence and collaboration.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to drive business growth and product adoption across assigned verticals.
  • Sponsor key performance initiatives and advocate for vertical-specific needs by collecting and escalating product feedback.
