About The Position

This is a special opportunity. No politics, no red tape, no BS - a 100% focus on building the 'People Engine' for a high growth private group. We have a proven strategy, the financial resources required, and a compelling market opportunity. Your mission is to partner with the Founder and senior leaders to build an A-Player team and high-performance culture to deliver our $100M+ growth strategy. It will require an owner’s mindset - this is not traditional HR. This role is about building the 'People Engine' to deliver our $100m growth strategy. You will report to the COO with a dotted line to the Founder. Your initial team will include a Talent Acquisition Specialist and a Recruitment Administrator, with support from our Office Manager. Our group is currently 110 people total and growing at 20-30 per year.

Requirements

  • Strong Career Progression : 10+ years of professional experience with clear progression in leadership or People-related roles.
  • Private Business Experience : Proven track record in a private company environment, ideally working closely with an entrepreneurial owner.
  • Talent Acquisition : Demonstrated ability to deliver senior, executive, and mission-critical hires.
  • Mixed Workforce Exposure : Experience across white-collar professional and technical/blue-collar workforces.

Responsibilities

  • Org Planning : Partner with the Founder and senior leaders to design an organisational plan that will deliver the strategy.
  • Talent Acquisition : Own our recruitment capability, including personally recruiting the critical senior roles that move the needle.
  • A-Player Standard : Own our A-Player Standard to ensure we only hire, develop, and reward the right people.
  • Performance Framework : Implement high-impact feedback systems that drive a high-performance and high-accountability culture.
  • Remuneration Design : Own remuneration planning and incentive design to attract, align, drive, and retain the right talent and best performance.
  • Development & Succession : Coach our leaders to become world-class people managers, provide pathways for high-potential talent, and provide succession options for all key roles.
  • HR Tech Stack : Own the HR tech stack to ensure it is simple, easy to use, enhances productivity, and improves outcomes across the business.
  • Frontline Manager Focus : Equip our managers to handle 99% of people and performance management, and keep any other 'HR noise' to a minimum.
