About The Position

Trackman is searching for an engineering manager to lead one of our most dynamic and ambitious teams in Operations: Operational Engineering! As Trackman’s growing portfolio of hardware and software products become more and more ubiquitous in the professional, commercial, and amateur sporting industries, system stability at all levels remains a business-critical must. Both we and our customers’ needs demand nearly 24/7/365 uptimes and the ability to quickly resolve system failures when they arise. The Head of Operational Engineering leads a global, cross-functional organization responsible for delivering operational excellence across Trackman’s software and hardware ecosystem. This role drives system reliability, process optimization, and data-informed decision-making across engineering, product, and field operations. You will shape how Trackman’s technology performs in real-world environments — from sports venues to research facilities — by aligning teams, systems, and strategies to ensure seamless operation and customer satisfaction. As a leader, you’ll cultivate a culture of engineering excellence through mentorship, clear goal-setting, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every initiative contributes to individual development, team success, and product innovation. Assignments are broad, challenging, and evolving—as are our Trackman products and company!

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering leadership within hardware/software or data-intensive environments.
  • Proven ability to lead global, cross-functional teams through complex technical programs
  • Experience designing and deploying monitoring, analytics, or process automation tools at scale
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated success presenting technical updates to executive leadership
  • Expertise in translating operational and technical insights into strategic business recommendations
  • Deep understanding of engineering workflows, system reliability, and sustainable operational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Create a collaborative and human-centered environment by conducting regular 1:1 sessions, mentoring team members, and setting clear, measurable objectives.
  • Lead and grow a diverse global team of engineers, project managers, and data analysts to deliver operational and product improvements across Trackman’s various products.
  • Strategic Program Leadership
  • Represent Ops. Engineering at the executive level by leading steering group presentations and translating complex technical topics into actionable strategic decisions for C-suite stakeholders.
  • Systems and Process Innovation
  • Design and lead the global rollout of enterprise monitoring and alerting systems (Grafana-based) to ensure proactive fault detection and 24/7 uptime for Trackman’s baseball and golf tracking platforms.
  • Streamline internal and external software tools to automate support and field operations, reducing customer resolution times and improving installer efficiency worldwide.
  • Cross-Functional Delivery & Impact
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Product Management, Field Operations, and Support to define project requirements, align priorities, and ensure seamless execution across the product lifecycle.
  • Oversee field research initiatives that translate operational insights into product improvements, directly enhancing customer experience and hardware/software performance.
  • Innovation in Data-Driven Tools
  • Guide the creation of data analysis tools that transform raw field data into actionable intelligence
