About the Role: Everest Reinsurance is seeking a strategic and inclusive leader to oversee its North America Treaty Department, a $6B+ portfolio spanning Property, Casualty, Professional Liability, and Surety and Credit. This executive role is part of the Reinsurance leadership team and reports directly to the CEO of Reinsurance. The successful candidate will drive underwriting strategy, portfolio performance, and market growth while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of reinsurance underwriting experience, with proven leadership in Treaty lines.
  • Demonstrated success in managing profitable portfolios and leading underwriting teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
  • Experience in reinsurance contract analysis, product development, and marketing through broker channels.
  • Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, high-intensity environment with a solutions-driven mindset.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35%, primarily within North America.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction, underwriting execution, and P&L oversight of the North American Treaty portfolio.
  • Underwrite and manage proportional and excess of loss treaty business, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines and risk appetite.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with national and regional brokers, driving new business opportunities and expanding Everest’s market presence.
  • Collaborate across global underwriting, claims, reserving, exposure management, and distribution teams to optimize portfolio performance and deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Represent Everest at industry events, promoting a unified, client-centric approach and enhancing brand visibility.
  • Build and develop a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team, fostering innovation and accountability.
  • Ensure robust underwriting governance, compliance, and risk controls, with regular portfolio reviews and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to global strategy, underwriting appetite, and budget planning in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Engage with media outlets to promote Everest’s brand and reinforce its reputation as a trusted industry leader.
