About The Position

As Head of Motion & Video at Harvey, this role is built around three core responsibilities: motion design leadership, video creative direction, and team leadership. First, you are the creative owner of motion design at Harvey. You will define and evolve our motion language, partner closely with our Creative Director on direction and standards, personally execute high-impact motion work, and lead a team of motion designers to ensure consistency, quality, and craft across brand, marketing, and product surfaces. Second, you are the creative authority for video. You own how Harvey’s videos are conceived and told, including concept development, story, visual aesthetic, and storyboarding. You will direct video creatively from pre-production through post, select and guide external creative talent and agencies, and ensure every video reflects Harvey’s precision, restraint, and point of view. You will partner closely with our Video Producer and Creative Operations team, who own production logistics and execution, to deliver world-class work. Third, you are a people leader. You will manage, mentor, and grow a team of motion and video experts, setting clear expectations, providing thoughtful feedback, and building a culture of craft, ownership, and collaboration. Harvey is not a typical tech brand. We value clarity, intention, and rigor. Motion and video here are strategic brand tools, not decorative layers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in motion design and video, with a strong emphasis on brand and product storytelling
  • A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional taste, restraint, and craft across motion systems, video, and narrative work, including storyboards or animatics
  • Deep hands-on expertise in motion design and video editing tools such as After Effects and Premiere
  • Proven experience creatively directing professional video productions
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary motion and video teams, including senior individual contributors
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate creative intent to diverse stakeholders
  • Comfort operating at both a strategic and executional level
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with ambiguity and high expectations
