Head of Finance

Passage HealthNew York, NY

About The Position

Passage Health is a fast-growing Series A startup on a mission to improve the quality and accessibility of autism care through technology. The diagnosis rate for autism has surged over the past decade to 1 in 31 children. Yet families still face waitlists of up to a year for care, as providers struggle to meet demand with outdated systems and manual workflows. We’re building the platform that powers autism care providers’ entire business—from clinical documentation to operations to billing—modernizing how care is delivered and scaling access across a $460B market. Over the past year, Passage has grown more than 3x year over year, driven by strong customer demand and expanding partnerships across the autism care ecosystem. As we continue to scale, we’re focused on building durable foundations across the company, including the financial systems, processes, and decision-making needed to support long-term growth. We’re hiring a Head of Finance to build and lead the finance function at Passage Health. This is our first dedicated finance hire and a highly visible role that will report directly to the CEO and partner closely with leaders across the company. This role combines hands-on financial execution with strategic partnership. You’ll be responsible for building the core financial infrastructure of the business while also supporting leadership with the analysis and insight needed to guide key decisions. The work spans day-to-day finance operations, financial planning and forecasting, and strategic evaluation as the company scales. This is an ideal role for someone with strong finance fundamentals who enjoys operating close to the business and wants meaningful ownership in an early-stage environment.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience in finance, with a combination of investment banking and operating experience at a B2B SaaS startup.
  • Strong FP&A fundamentals and comfort owning forecasts, models, and operating metrics.
  • Experience building or significantly improving finance processes in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
  • Strong experience with modern financial systems and tooling, including evaluating and implementing a scalable finance tech stack.
  • Interest in leveraging AI-native and automation tools to scale the function efficiently without adding unnecessary headcount.
  • Ability to move seamlessly between detailed execution and higher-level financial analysis.
  • Strong judgment and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership and functional teams.
  • High ownership mindset: proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating with ambiguity.
  • NYC-based and excited to work in a collaborative, in-person/hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first finance hire, owning the end-to-end finance function and helping define how finance operates at Passage.
  • Establish financial systems, processes, and controls that support a growing, multi-functional organization.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the CEO and functional leaders on financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Own FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and long-range financial planning.
  • Help define company-wide KPIs and operating metrics, and support functional leaders in planning against them.
  • Provide clear financial insights that help leadership understand performance, trade-offs, and priorities.
  • Produce regular financial reporting (weekly and monthly) to support leadership visibility and accountability.
  • Partner with external accounting partners on monthly close, financial statements, and audits as needed.
  • Oversee customer invoicing, revenue tracking, and contract-related financial processes.
  • Support tax filings, compliance, expense approvals, and general financial operations.
  • Partner closely with GTM, product, and growth leaders to use data and financial analysis to guide decisions around pricing, packaging, customer segmentation, and growth investments.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of new product lines, partnerships, and business development initiatives, with a clear focus on driving sustainable, efficient growth.
  • Build and maintain models that connect go-to-market strategy to revenue, margin, and cash outcomes.
  • Support fundraising efforts, including financial modeling, diligence preparation, and investor materials.
  • Serve as a thought partner to leadership, helping translate data into clear recommendations and trade-offs as the business scales.

  • Competitive salary, bonus, and meaningful equity
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision benefits
