About The Position

Cellsense transforms algae and cellulose into sustainable beads and beaded fabrics for the fashion, jewelry, and beauty industries. Cellsense’s proprietary material replaces sources of microplastics and heavy metal pollution while offering designers a wide range of brilliant colors, clarities, and properties such as fluorescence. Our automated manufacturing system cuts lead time of customized beaded products from weeks to days by eliminating expensive tooling and tedious manual labor from conventional processes. We’re venture-backed, have over 48 inbound brand requests, and are now moving from R&D to our first pilot production line. The Role: Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to inform strategy and track performance Lead fundraising: refine data rooms, prepare financial slides for pitch decks, network with VCs, and manage investor communications Provide market insights and pricing strategies to support client acquisition and revenue growth Oversee day-to-day finance functions: payroll, general accounting, compliance, and reporting (using tools like QuickBooks or NetSuite) Set budgets and prepare monthly financial forecasts Act as a key advisor to the CEO on company structure, fundraising, and operational risk

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Advanced degree (MBA or CPA) preferred, but not required
  • Experience running finance and operations, ideally with startup experience scaling from seed to Series A
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and a successful track record in fundraising (experience in cleantech or manufacturing a plus)
  • Strong network in VC/PE, with ability to leverage relationships for business growth
  • Proficiency with Excel, QuickBooks, NetSuite, and a strong data-driven, analytical mindset
  • Passion for sustainability and interest in scaling innovative materials
