About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Head of Engineering in Switzerland.
In this role, you will lead the technical and organizational evolution of a mature, high-traffic SaaS product operating in a fast-changing, AI-influenced market. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will sit at the intersection of engineering excellence and business impact, shaping how teams deliver value at scale. You will guide the transition toward stronger autonomy, cross-functional ownership, and AI-native development practices. With a strong product-first mindset, you will balance innovation, scalability, and technical sustainability. This is a highly visible leadership role with real influence over strategy, people, and platform direction. The environment is remote-first, international, and built on trust, autonomy, and measurable impact.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in a high-scale SaaS or production environment
• Strong technical credibility across modern web stacks and cloud infrastructure, with the ability to engage deeply in architectural discussions
• Product-first mindset, prioritizing customer and business impact over technical elegance alone
• Demonstrated success leading organizational change, team restructuring, or delivery model transformations
• Enabler mentality with a focus on empowering teams rather than acting as a single decision point
• Strong interest and practical understanding of AI, LLMs, or automation as drivers of productivity and product innovation
• Fluent English is required; German is a strong advantage

Nice To Haves

• Experience with data-heavy platforms, performance optimization, and compliance or privacy requirements is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation of the engineering organization toward cross-functional, product-oriented squads with clear ownership and accountability
• Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap in close collaboration with tech leads, balancing innovation, delivery, and technical debt
• Drive the adoption of AI-native development practices, tooling, and automation to improve efficiency and team leverage
• Partner with executive and product leadership to align technical priorities with business outcomes and customer value
• Establish meaningful engineering metrics to improve predictability, flow, and impact measurement
• Own platform scalability, performance, security, data privacy, and compliance in collaboration with central platform teams
• Mentor, develop, and empower an international engineering team, fostering autonomy, psychological safety, and high performance
