About The Position

The Opportunity: The Director, Global EHS Compliance is responsible for leading the company’s global Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance strategy, ensuring regulatory readiness and consistent implementation of compliance controls across all regions. This role reports to the Global EHS Management System & Global Compliance Lead and oversees global regulatory intelligence, audit programs and compliance capability building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 8–12+ years of EHS compliance, regulatory, or audit experience in multinational or regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of global EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, EU directives, REACH, SEVESO).
  • Hands-on experience leading audits, regulatory inspections, and EHS compliance programs.
  • Experience working with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CEM, CHMM.
  • Experience with digital EHS compliance systems (e.g., Enablon, Intelex, Cority, VelocityEHS).
  • Experience managing compliance for global sites across diverse regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global EHS compliance governance processes, including controls, standards, and compliance planning.
  • Oversee regulatory intelligence and ensure timely dissemination and implementation of new requirements.
  • Manage the compliance aspects of the global EHS audit program, including methodology, planning, reporting, and auditor capability.
  • Partner with Legal, Quality, Operations, Risk, and regional EHS teams to harmonize compliance expectations.
  • Support the Global EHS Management System & Compliance Lead in delivering management reviews and compliance insights.
  • Develop global compliance training materials and drive competency development across regions.
  • Track compliance performance metrics and identify systemic trends and improvement priorities.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Expertise - Serve as an expert on global EHS regulations, compliance controls, and regulatory expectations.
  • Lead regulatory interpretation, applicability assessment, and compliance readiness activities.
  • Support site and regional teams through audits, inspections, and compliance investigations.
  • Leadership & Collaboration – Collaborate with global and regional EHS leaders to ensure aligned execution of compliance processes.
  • Influence and support site leaders and functional teams in adopting compliance best practices.
