The Head of Digital Health Technology & Real World Science at Bayer will lead the strategy for integrating digital health technologies and real-world data into research and development (R&D) processes. This role focuses on enhancing capabilities in clinical trial technology, digital biomarkers, and endpoints, ensuring the sustainable success of product portfolios in a competitive market. The position requires collaboration across functions to drive innovation and implement cutting-edge analytics in the pharmaceutical R&D landscape.

  • Lead the overall VACC leadership of the function and coordinate cross-functional activities to drive global Pharmaceuticals R&D activities related to Digital Health technology and real-world science.
  • Establish and manage holistic trend management to identify risks and opportunities in R&D relevant areas and translate them into a scouting roadmap.
  • Act as a senior Bayer champion for the optimal utilization of digital health technologies and real-world data across R&D activities.
  • Facilitate the digital transformation of the pharmaceuticals division through the inclusion of Digital Health technology and real-world science along the R&D value chain.
  • Build and maintain an R&D Center of Excellence for Digital Health technology and real-world science throughout the product life cycle.
  • Enhance Bayer's global leadership in digital health technologies and support project teams in decision-making regarding prioritization and implementation.
  • Facilitate collaboration with external partners to drive and implement Digital Health technology and Data science innovations portfolio activities.
  • Develop and maintain state-of-the-art product development processes consistent with business needs and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate and partner on new technology platforms and product portfolio opportunities in Digital Health technology and Data science innovations.
  • Embed compliance as a fundamental business principle within the organization.
  • University degree of MD or equivalent.
  • Strong affinity for real-world analytics, trends, innovation, technology, and digital health technologies.
  • Extensive experience in a natural or computational science or adjacent scientific discipline.
  • Relevant experience with Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Device development in industry positions.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device clinical and regulatory environments, especially in the EU and US.
  • Understanding of digital health technologies and relevant compliance, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Strong understanding of different technology domains in relation to Real-world data/Real-world evidence.
  • Strong aptitude to set a vision for data capture, analysis, and clinical data insights generation in Digital health and DS Innovation.
  • International and intercultural experience and ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as business dictates.
  • University degree of M.D. and/or in engineering/science discipline or equivalent.
  • 15 years of progressive professional experience in the management of digital health or health informatics or real-world analytics at global programs, including at least 10 years' experience providing senior level advice to management.
