Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Data and AI governance-related topics.
  • Background in Financial Services, consulting, or high growth technology environments preferred.
  • Distinguished academic track record in data, information systems, or related discipline.
  • Proven success standing up and operating data and AI governance frameworks and tooling.
  • Deep expertise on best-practice data and AI governance processes, frameworks, and tooling.
  • Expertise in translating data-related regulatory requirements (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, ICFR, etc.) into technical requirements and operationalizing effective data governance policies, processes, and systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
  • Structured thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating strong organization, prioritization, and follow-through.
  • Solution oriented and motivated to deliver results.
  • Open to feedback and committed to continuous growth.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Data and AI Governance framework. Define and deliver an enterprise operating model to govern data definitions, quality, metadata, lineage, retention, access controls, and AI models.
  • Establish Data and AI governance policies and standards aligned to key regulatory requirements.
  • Data governance execution. Translate governance policies and standards into clear and effective data controls, stewardship, and accountability across data domains.
  • Own, maintain, and enforce standards related to data definitions, data quality, metadata, lineage, etc., partnering with data owners and other stakeholders to ensure accountability.
  • Data governance platform and process enablement. Implement governance tooling (e.g., MDM, data catalogs) and embed governance standards directly into data pipelines, analytics workflows, and reporting processes.
  • Drive firmwide adoption of governance practices and promote data as an enterprise asset culture, embedding governance into data operations, and ensuring requirements are integrated into data product development and lifecycle management.
  • AI governance support. Support the governance of AI models by ensuring proper documentation of module purpose, inputs, models, outputs, and limitations, aligning with responsible AI principles.
  • Assist in maintaining AI inventories, model metadata, and audit artifacts.
  • Risk, compliance, and controls support. Support regulatory and internal compliance requirements for data processes regarding privacy, record retention, and audit readiness; escalate governance risks or issues through established forums.
