About The Position

Provide enterprise leadership for Contract Management, overseeing the negotiation, execution, and governance of high-impact agreements across major spend categories totaling approximately $14B annually. Lead and develop a team of contract management professionals and establish scalable, efficient, and risk-aware contracting operating models. This role is a key advisor and senior negotiator for some of the company’s largest and most complex deals, with a mandate to accelerate innovation and AI adoption in contracting and drive the organization toward operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Procurement or Legal with complex contract negotiation and contract management (products and/or services), including leading or advising on large, strategic agreements.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and building scalable operating models, policies, and governance.
  • Expertise negotiating and interpreting a broad range of agreements (e.g., technology, marketing, HR/benefits, travel, and other indirect/direct categories).
  • Experience in developing and evolving contracting templates in partnership with Legal and cross-functional Risk and Operational stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen with ability to evaluate financial and risk tradeoffs; experience with business value analysis.
  • Experience with eProcurement/Source-to-Contract platforms (procurement, sourcing, and contract/CLM modules).
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills; strong facilitation, influence, and presentation capabilities.
  • Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and consensus-building capability in high-stakes environments.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or JD.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or equivalent (e.g., CPSM).
  • Experience in insurance and/or regulated financial services environments.
  • Experience modernizing contracting operations, including workflow automation, analytics, or AI-enabled contracting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise contract management strategy and operating model across major spend categories, ensuring consistent governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Serve as the senior negotiator and problem-solver for high-value, high-complexity agreements, shaping deal structure, commercial terms, and performance protections.
  • Partner with Category Strategy, Third Party Risk, Corporate Legal, Finance, and senior business leaders to develop and execute sourcing/acquisition strategies that deliver measurable value (cost, service quality, speed-to-contract, and supplier performance).
  • Establish and continuously improve contracting policies, standards, templates, playbooks, and negotiation best practices across the enterprise.
  • Build a high-performing team through coaching, talent development, and performance management; set clear goals, metrics, and accountability.
  • Drive contracting operational excellence through process simplification, cycle-time reduction, and scalable governance mechanisms.
  • Lead the evolution to AI-enabled and data-driven contracting, including intake, clause/term analytics, workflow automation, and adoption of contract lifecycle management capabilities.
  • Own contracting performance management and reporting (e.g., cycle time, risk exposure, value realization, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction).
  • Influence and align senior stakeholders on contracting priorities, tradeoffs, and risk decisions; facilitate consensus and executive-level decision making.
