About The Position

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Business Development will be responsible for leading partnering opportunities from start to finish. This role will require actively generating and cultivating relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, facilitating asset in-licensing, acquisition, co-development, etc. discussions, and generating opportunities to expand Pathos’ pipeline as we seek to leverage our recent Series D fundraise.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years in Business Development in the Life Sciences sector (Pharma / Biotech)
  • Meaningfully facilitated multiple therapeutic deals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, thrives in ambiguity, well-organized, and able to work well under pressure and swift timelines

Responsibilities

  • Understand and structure the company strategy and priority as it relates to portfolio development
  • Identify pharma and biotech companies to gather information about their therapeutic programs and interest in partnering any of their assets externally
  • Build relationships with R&D and commercial executives at partner organizations to foster referral opportunities
  • Effectively communicate Pathos’s story, mission, differentiation, and strategy externally
  • Refine asset evaluation criteria, and apply to pipeline to determine prioritization for further scientific and clinical diligence
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of CDAs to facilitate asset evaluation, and term sheets for advancing promising conversations
  • Project manage asset transactions in collaboration with Pathos’ legal team
  • Create and pitch the asset internally to our leadership team, summarizing the rationale for closing a deal that you believe is an ideal asset for Pathos
  • Work closely with operations, science, and clinical to refine and improve the asset evaluation process at Pathos
  • Develop agentic resources for pipeline sourcing and automated diligence to supplement our current processes
  • Maintain subject matter expertise on the relevant trends in the pharmaceutical industry, the regulatory environment, and emerging policy developments
  • Collaborate and communicate efficiently with internal team members, senior and executive management, and external experts
  • Identify and support regional partnerships, supply agreements, collaborations, out licensing opportunities for our pipeline
