About The Position

The Head of Brand Visuals plays a pivotal role in shaping the visual expression of our brand. This is a leadership role for someone who can go from mood to made, translating vision into high-impact creative that connects with our audience. The Head of Brand Visuals brings the Lingo brand to life through powerful visual ideas, crafting stories that are emotionally resonant, strategically grounded and culturally fluent. This is a hands-on leadership position – equal parts ideation, craft, and team direction. Collaborating closely with the Global Creative Director, designers, writers, external production partners, and cross-functionally with our Marketing, eCommerce and Product teams, the Head of Brand Visuals leads concept development, design and art direction across campaigns, digital experiences, retail, and content.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of combined agency and in-house experience as an art director, design director or relevant role.
  • A compelling portfolio of work that demonstrates high caliber art direction, design excellence, and a proven track record in the development of successful, market-moving creative ideas.
  • A drive to break boundaries and craft the best ideas in the world of their kind.
  • Fearlessly creative and relentlessly attentive to detail.
  • A collaborative, empathetic personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn and problem-solve within a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for creative innovation, elevated design, emerging technologies and trends.
  • Strong understanding of tech, ability to work with creatives, marketers and engineers alike.
  • Demonstrated expertise in design, photography, video, and illustration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in typography, layout, color and various print and digital production techniques.
  • Advanced expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and program management tools.
  • Systematic approach to design. Sees the big picture and seeks to implement sustainable, scalable solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the health tech industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the brand visuals team to develop breakthrough creative that drives the adoption of Lingo across brand and marketing touchpoints, including advertising, web, email, events, performance marketing and social media.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and Head of Copy to develop engaging, inspiring concepts and bring them to life with flawlessly crafted execution that drives business impact.
  • Proactively track trends in culture, design, user experience, and social media.
  • Inspire and embrace challenges, technologies, and new ways of thinking.
  • Mentor creatives on the team and lead by example – elevating the caliber of creative concepts and craft across all our work and achieving both team and individual goals.
  • Collaborate with the cross-functional partners across Lingo and Abbott to ensure the brand’s creative vision is consistent with broader company vision and initiatives and that all company creative work is supported and inspired.
  • Communicate with partners, agencies, and internal teams with clarity and vision, ensuring alignment on all projects.
  • Create print, digital and video creative that reflects the brand guidelines while considering stakeholder feedback and requirements.
  • Lead internal reviews of creative projects, ensuring high quality work that is distinctive and on-brand.
  • Partner with the Creative Director and Creative Ops to guide team process, including planning, recruiting, and resourcing, ensuring efficiency.
  • Partner with shoot production teams to make sure relevant assets are captured during shoots.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on-time, within budget and meet technical requirements and business goals.
  • Meticulously refine all deliverables to ensure the highest standards are met across all content.
