About The Position

The Head of Audit, Professional Practice, is a pivotal role within TD Bank, specifically designed for the US jurisdiction. This position is part of the Audit Senior Management Team and is responsible for leading the Professional Practice function. The role encompasses the end-to-end development, implementation, and ongoing execution of audit practices, working closely with both Canadian and Non-US Professional Practice Audit teams. The individual in this role will provide leadership in people management, ensuring the recruitment of top talent, setting performance goals, and managing employee performance and compensation decisions. This includes promoting teamwork and addressing any disciplinary actions as necessary. In addition to people management, the Head of Audit will oversee the development and execution of various functions within the Professional Practice team, including Methodology and Strategy, Training and Skills Assessment, Stakeholder Reporting & Regulatory Management, Workforce Management, and Quality Assurance & Improvement Programs. The role requires ensuring that methodologies and practices adhere to the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards and regulatory requirements across the US jurisdiction. This involves implementing leading methodologies, conducting training, and evaluating compliance with established policies and practices. The position also entails collaborating with the US Audit Leadership Team to effectively execute and implement strategic priorities and initiatives. The Head of Audit will design and execute meaningful reporting of audit results to all US stakeholders and ensure timely reporting to TD Bank Group. A significant aspect of the role is to develop and deliver an effective Data Analytics strategy for the US audit teams, enhancing their operational efficiency. The individual will be expected to continually learn and innovate, leveraging a strong internal and external network to drive operational excellence and maintain an active talent pipeline. The Head of Audit will also participate in workstreams related to Internal Audit’s involvement in relevant Bank and Audit priorities, serving as a member of the Audit Senior Management Team to provide insights and build partnerships within the team. This role is critical in shaping the future of the audit function at TD Bank, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and effectiveness.
