About The Position

Ledgebrook is seeking a Head of Actuarial Reserving and Capital Modelling to join our Finance team, reporting to the CFO. Your mandate will be to stand up and build out a high-performing internal reserving function for our fast-growing insurance group You will: stand up internal actuarial reserving processes and capital-adequacy modeling frameworks. collaborate closely with finance, claims, and pricing and analytics teams to conduct reserve loss and ALAE reviews, identify drivers of results, and present analysis to senior leaders across the organization, Play a key role supporting the accurate and appropriate booking of reserves. lead the actuarial component of financial planning in support of strategic decision making. grow a team capable of supporting our reserving, capital modelling, and risk oversight needs as the organization scales. Additionally, you will work with external stakeholders throughout the financial audit and third-party actuarial review processes.

Requirements

  • Deep experience with actuarial reserving in the Property & Casualty insurance (or reinsurance) market required, E&S experiences a plus
  • FCAS required; able to sign for Statements of Actuarial Opinion
  • Familiarity with AM Best’s BCAR Model
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and external parties
  • Proficiency with Excel required; familiarity with SQL
  • Desire to innovate and curious to learn; strong drive to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
