The Head Golf Professional will lead the day-to-day golf operations with an emphasis on the golfer experience. The Head Golf Professional will oversee the Golf Department staff to ensure an exceptional experience for both members and guests of the resort. The position will have a constant presence in all areas of the operation.

  • Oversee the entire golf day to day operations including, but not limited to:
  • The Golf Shop
  • The Golf Course
  • Golf Tournaments
  • Golf Car Fleet Operations
  • Golf Practice Facilities
  • All golf related programs
  • Hire, train, and supervise competent staff.
  • Oversee or create all weekly golf staff schedules, time sheets, and payroll.
  • Organize events and tournaments including all Member associated events.
  • Work closely with the MGA, WGA, and Niners associations.
  • Promote the resort.
  • Represent the resort within the local and national golf community through
  • organizations such as the PGA, the CGA, and the USGA.
  • Enforce all the facility’s rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course,
  • golf cars, and other golf facilities.
  • Be fiscally responsible for the entire golf operation.
  • Maintain a close relationship with Golf Course Maintenance managers and staff.
  • Supervise the use of the reservation system, POS system, and booking engines.
  • Devote an essential number of hours to networking and building relationships with guest and member.
  • Golf Course Reservations.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly play with the hotel.
  • Assist and support golf retail efforts including special orders, merchandising, and fitting events.
  • Review monthly financials with the Director of Golf and adjust as needed.
  • Work close with Director of Player Development on golf instruction programming.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the Golf Industry.
  • Must be a Class A Member of the PGA in good standing or must have passed level II of the PGA/PGM Associate Program.
  • Education level of an associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Must possess strong computer skills with extensive experience with computerized POS and tee time systems.
  • Thorough understanding of course rotation and tee time arrangement.
  • Experienced in tournament operations including competition formats and rules.
  • Experienced in golf shop merchandising.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Ability to work in a standing and mobile position for long periods of time.
  • Interior and exterior of Golf Resort, with exposure to external weather conditions.
  • Interior of golf shop, in normal office conditions.
