About The Position
EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree Preferred Teacher Certification Preferred (If not certified, must take and pass MIAA Coaches Education Course) EFFECTIVE: 2026-2027 Fall Sports Season SALARY: As per contract REPORTS TO: Head of School/ Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated success as a football athlete and/or coach.

Responsibilities
- Coaching individual participants in the skills necessary for superior achievement in football.
- Planning and scheduling a regular program of practice in season.
- Working closely with the Administrator of Interscholastic/Intramural Athletics in scheduling of interscholastic contests.
- Recommending purchases of equipment and supplies, if necessary.
- Maintaining necessary attendance forms.
- Overseeing the safety conditions whenever students are present.
- Enforcing disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establishing a policy for breach of such standards by athletes.
- Establishing performance criteria for eligible interscholastic competitive events.
- Working with college officials (Scholarship, student placement)
- Working with local media.
- Enforcing and explaining rules and regulations regarding athletics at Lowell High School as stated in the student Handbook and MIAA Blue Book-E.g. (Attendance Eligibility, Chemical Health)
