About The Position

The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) role at Takeda is pivotal in fostering a values-driven culture and ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies within the Oncology Business Unit (OBU). This position is responsible for implementing an effective E&C program, leading the Digital E&C agenda, and acting as a strategic partner to navigate ethical challenges while promoting responsible innovation. The role requires a proactive approach to risk management and the ability to leverage emerging technologies to enhance compliance efforts.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with regulatory environment and requirements to ensure compliant business practices, especially in the US.
  • Demonstrated leadership of global teams, including management of remote or virtual teams.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to deliver results in cross-functional efforts.
  • Experience in designing, translating, or implementing Ethics & Compliance programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Global/multicultural experience, either in multi-country or global roles.
  • Experience working outside home country is desirable.
  • Exposure to at least one major business crisis.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the implementation of an effective E&C program in the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, and internal policies.
  • Leads the Digital E&C (DE&C) agenda for the BU to enable business innovation, product launches, and business aspirations while partnering with the global DE&C team.
  • Act as a proactive business partner and leader to ensure OBU navigates ethical decisions and manages potential risks without compromising responsible innovation.
  • Provide strategic input into the Global Ethics & Compliance program to ensure OBU requirements are understood and reflected appropriately.
  • Effectively implement the Global Ethics & Compliance program in the OBU and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leverage emerging technologies to strengthen and simplify compliance approaches in OBU.
  • Partner with OBU leadership to reinforce ethical mindset and create a values-based culture within OBU.
  • Develop the OBU Ethics & Compliance team to ensure strong business partnership and risk management capabilities.
  • Act as project sponsor for global E&C projects, collaborating with colleagues across the organization.
  • Serve as a member of the Global Ethics & Compliance Leadership Team and the OBU Leadership Team.
