About The Position

The role involves contributing to the design verification and failure analysis of head and disk components for large capacity disk drives utilizing Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) technology. The position requires hands-on lab measurements, data analysis, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment with numerous challenging opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proficient experimentalist with hands-on failure analysis skills.
  • Ability to process and analyze large data sets.
  • Programming experience in Python or Matlab.
  • Familiarity with magnetic principles.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • A Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with various lab equipment.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a self-directed manner.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the head/disk electrical interface.
  • Conduct bench level testing of hard drives.
