Scott County School District Head Custodian –Central Office Job Details Title Head Custodian – Central Office Posting ID Description JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Head Custodian QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports. Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of the tasks assigned. Three years custodial experience. Valid Kentucky Driver’s License. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Must be able to perform heavy physical labor such as lifting garbage bags that weigh 50 pounds. REPORTS TO : Principal or Designee JOB GOAL : To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop. RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleans and maintains all boilers and other major equipment. Supervises and participates in necessary painting and general repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general mechanical areas. Replace broken windows. Assists general mechanics in remodeling and renovation work. Generally supervises and maintains the school grounds. Assists in snow removal. Supervises and participates in the general cleaning and maintenance of the school building. Requisitions and receives supplies and equipment, and maintains necessary Assumes responsibility for the general security of the building. Assumes responsibility for the general safety of the building. Makes building repairs that he/she is capable of. Reports immediately to the principal any damage to school property. Assumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off. Keeps an inventory of supplies, equipment and fuel on hand, and requisitions such needed replacements from the principal far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in such time not to hinder the custodian in his duties. Conducts an on-going program of general maintenance, upkeep and repair. Performs emergency repair or cleaning services as necessary. Completes all tasks in shortest possible time. Train, supervise and evaluate personnel. Performs other duties that may be assigned. EVALUATION: Annually by Principal or Designee
