Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1 to 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in Public or School Building Housekeeping.
  • Supervisory experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a small sized staff of custodians engaging in cleaning and performing light maintenance work inside and outside the building.
  • Directs or performs the cleaning of walls, windows, floors, furniture, and other fixtures.
  • Directs or performs maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, cleaning filters, and making emergency repairs.
  • Ensures building security, locking and unlocking doors for cleaning or special school events.
  • Directs or performs maintenance on the grounds surrounding the buildings.
  • Orders and receives cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Inspects buildings and grounds and responds to comments from Principal.
  • Responds to emergency calls, including making emergency repairs during unscheduled hours.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Principal.
