About The Position

The University of Southern Maine invites applications for a part-time, seasonal Head Women’s Golf Coach to lead and grow our NCAA Division III women’s golf program within the Little East Conference. This role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about student-athlete development and excited to build a competitive, values-driven program. The Head Women’s Golf Coach provides leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction for the program while fostering an environment where student-athletes are challenged, supported, and empowered to succeed both on the course and in the classroom. The coach oversees all aspects of the women’s golf program, including planning and conducting practices, coaching competitions and tournaments, traveling with the team, and developing effective recruitment and retention strategies. The position also plays a key role in maintaining program standards, NCAA and conference compliance, and a positive team culture aligned with USM Athletics’ commitment to student success. In collaboration with the Athletics Department, the Head Women’s Golf Coach contributes to departmental initiatives, attends meetings as available, supports student success efforts, participates in community engagement and outreach, and assists with approved fundraising activities. The coach also engages in annual program review and represents the University and Athletics Department at institutional, regional, and national meetings and events. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive university vehicles in accordance with the University of Maine System Motor Vehicle Guidelines
  • Experience as a head or assistant coach in the sport of golf
  • A strong commitment to NCAA principles and rules compliance
  • Experience working with students in a team or sports setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to student success
