About The Position

High Point University is seeking a new Head Coach for Women's Basketball. This position is responsible for the management of all aspects of the Women’s Basketball Program. This includes, but is not limited to: the recruitment and retention of student-athletes; their coaching in an effort to increase their athletic performance; fundraising for their individual sport; and the leading of an athletic program that will advance the brand of High Point University. For questions regarding this position, please contact Dan Hauser at [email protected]. Job Description QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Training: Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s Degree preferred. NCAA playing experience strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Ability: Must be proficient in the technical knowledge of their sport. Must possess the capability to instruct student-athletes and increase their athletic performance. Must also possess strong written and interpersonal communication skills in order to interact with donors, staff and students. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: Position is responsible for the success of all team members both in terms of athletic competition and academic success. Must conduct a program that adheres to and exceeds all of High Point University’s standards of excellence. Must demonstrate teaching ability to lead their student-athletes in their academic, physical and spiritual development. DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises all assistant coaches and personnel for their respective sport as well as all student-athletes. Makes independent decisions on the recruitment of potential student-athletes as well as offers of financial aid related to their athletic abilities. Leads the scheduling of their team’s athletic competitions. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the supervision of all student-athletes who are members of their respective team(s). Directly supervises all assistant coaches and personnel for their sport.
