Wingate University is seeking a dynamic, driven, and knowledgeable leader to serve in a dual capacity within our growing beach volleyball program. This full-time position is responsible for the Head Coaching duties of the Men’s Club Beach Volleyball team and serving as the Lead Assistant Coach for the NCAA Division II Women’s Beach Volleyball program. The successful candidate will balance the administrative and developmental needs of a competitive club program with the high-level tactical and recruiting demands of a scholarship-intercollegiate program.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 2–3 years of coaching experience (collegiate or high-level club).
Strong background in beach-specific volleyball (indoor experience is a plus, but beach expertise is required).
Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends for travel/competitions.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in scouting software (e.g., VolleyStation, Hudl) preferred.

Responsibilities

Men’s Club Beach Volleyball (Head Coach) Program Leadership: Manage all aspects of the Men’s Club program, including practice planning, player development, and match-day coaching.
Recruitment: Actively identify and enroll prospective student-athletes to maintain a competitive roster.
Administration: Coordinate travel logistics, budget management, and tournament scheduling.
Culture Building: Foster a team environment focused on sportsmanship, academic excellence, and the university’s core values.
Women’s Beach Volleyball (Assistant Coach) Technical Instruction: Assist the Head Coach in daily training sessions, focusing on skill acquisition and elite-level tactical execution.
Scouting & Analysis: Perform video breakdown and opponent scouting to develop effective game plans.
Recruiting: Identify and evaluate high-level talent to support the NCAA program’s success.
Operations: Support the Head Coach with team travel, equipment management, and compliance documentation.
Maintain the beach volleyball facility (sand maintenance, equipment setup).
Ensure all activities adhere to Wingate University, NCAA, and club sports regulations.
Participate in department-wide fundraising and community engagement initiatives.
