About The Position

As the Head Coach of Esports at Pace University, this position will be responsible for the recruitment, retention, academic and personal development of the E-sports student-athletes. This person will be responsible for developing varsity-level competitive teams as well as working with Pace faculty and staff to integrate the Esports program into the academic experience and campus culture. Other responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing coaches and facilities, and developing effective annual operating budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least one year of competitive Esports experience involving multiplayer online video games that have team-based elements; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Responsibilities

• Manage game and practice coaching responsibilities for the Esports Program.
• Assume responsibility for the recruiting of student-athletes who have the potential for meeting the University standards for admission and to be a successful member of the Esports Program.
• Promote the University generally and the soccer program specifically by maintaining a high profile with the constituencies important to fundraising, promotions, and public relations.
• Be available to speak to groups who have the potential to support the University and assist fundraising visits and presentations whenever possible.
• Arrange team transportation, housing, and meals.
• Work closely with the Business Manager to monitor expenditures for Esports to stay within University budget guidelines.
• Order supplies and services needed to operate a competitive Esports Program.
• Plan and manage fundraising and sponsorship initiatives for the Esports program that align with the University's overall fundraising strategy.
• Maintain and monitor all Esports equipment and facilities.
• Ensure institutional compliance with various governing bodies for the Esports program.
• Stay up to date on cutting-edge equipment and playing techniques for all Esports that the Pace University teams/clubs are engaging in.
• Represent the University in a manner that projects sportsmanship, class, and integrity at all times.
• Perform other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
