About The Position

The Head Chef at Eataly is responsible for overseeing all back of house operations across multiple restaurants and kitchens within an Eataly location. This role is crucial in ensuring that quality standards and financial goals are consistently met. The Head Chef reports directly to the Director of Store Operations and manages the Chef de Cuisine team. This position requires a strategic approach to maximize profitability and quality, directing and organizing the back of house strategy effectively. In this role, the Head Chef leads a team of Chef de Cuisines, driving success in their individual outlets. A significant part of the job involves developing recipes and menus that focus on Italian authenticity, seasonality, and the use of high-quality ingredients. The Head Chef also partners interdepartmentally with the store's senior leadership team and corporate to execute initiatives, plan special events, and share vital information. The Head Chef is tasked with analyzing financial data, building budgets, and developing strategies aimed at increasing efficiencies and profits. Collaboration with the General Manager of Restaurants is essential to create a seamless and efficient restaurant experience. Additionally, the Head Chef prepares updates on the success of the restaurants for senior and corporate leadership, participates in employee hiring, training, payroll, scheduling, evaluations, and terminations, and documents, investigates, and resolves employee and guest incidents. Other duties may be assigned as required.
